Title IX Coordinator Candidate Presentation听笔辞蝉迟辫辞苍别诲

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion needs to postpone the Title IX Coordinator Candidate public presentation scheduled for this Wednesday, May 11 at 10 a.m.听 We will keep the Mason community informed of the new date and time.听


Volunteers Needed for 麻豆国产 Commencement

Commencement is almost here, and 麻豆国产 麻豆国产 would love some additional help on the morning ofFriday, May 20, to prepare for the ceremony. 听

Volunteers should arrive by 8:15 a.m. and will be provided with a continental breakfast in the Johnson Center Atrium. Volunteers will then assist with the graduation lineup on Wilkins Plaza from 8:45 to 10:30 a.m.听听

Volunteers will help graduates find their way to the correct place in line, guide the lines once the procession starts, help students make sure their regalia is on properly, and answer any questions. Maps and information packets will be provided.

50th Anniversary Exhibits to Open in May

Two听exhibits will open this month as part of Mason's 50th anniversary celebrations:

looks back at Mason with a showcase of photos captured by students working for听Broadside, Mason's student newspaper from 1969 to 2014. An opening reception will be held Thursday, May 12, 4鈥6 p.m. in听Horizon Hall, Lower Level.听The opening will feature guest speaker Robert Vay of the 麻豆国产 Libraries鈥 Special Collections Research Center.

uses images and physical objects to illustrate student life throughout the years, development of university traditions, growth of the campuses, and milestones in the institution鈥檚 history.听An opening reception will be held Wednesday, May 25, 4鈥6 p.m. in Fenwick Library鈥檚 Special Collections Research Center Exhibition Area.

Parking and Transportation End-of-Spring Semester Donation Drive for Patriot Pantry听

Would you like to help someone in need? Make an in-person donation to benefit the Patriot Pantry at any Parking Services office through Friday, May 20, and reduce the cost of an outstanding parking citation by $15, $20, or $30.

2022 Transportation Survey Extended

The 2022 Transportation Survey has been extended through May 18. Take a few minutes to share how you get to, from, and around campus. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.

After completing the survey, you can opt-in to a raffle for 10 prize packages valued at $40 each. Ten participants will be randomly selected from those who opt-in.

As background to the survey, 30 percent of Mason鈥檚 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are attributed to commuting. Help us understand and improve how Mason commutes. To participate in the survey, visit听

Mason Shuttles Updates for Summer
Mason Shuttles summer service begins on Monday, May 23. Service will be Monday through Friday only. Burke VRE will not operate after May 20 until further notice. Schedules are posted at听. Contact听shuttle@gmu.eduwith questions.

Please note:

  • Spring 2022 schedules remain in effect through Friday, May 20 (except West Campus, which operates through Friday, May 13).
  • Graduation weekend service听will be available for Sandy Creek/Metro on May 21鈥22 only, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (last departure from Vienna Metro at 9:30 p.m.) No other weekend service available. 听
  • There is no shuttle service on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.

MOTHER: A听Photographic Exhibition听

Mason Exhibitions Arlington, in partnership with Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA), presents a concurrent photography exhibition, , on view at Mason Exhibitions Arlington from April 1 through May 28.

MOTHER explores the idea of motherhood from a diversity of female perspectives and features a majority of female celebrated artists.

Applications for Fenwick Fellowship Due June 15

Applications are now accepted for the 2022鈥23 Fenwick Fellows, which are awarded annually to Mason faculty members to pursue research projects that use and enhance the 麻豆国产 Libraries鈥 resources, while advancing knowledge in their field.Up to two fellowships of $5,000 each may be awarded.听

The awarded funds are听designated toward the acquisition of library research materials and/or digital infrastructure and tools that may be needed for the Fellow鈥檚 research project, as well as for associated research costs. In addition, the Fellow is given use of a technology-equipped office in Fenwick Library for the term of the fellowship.

Applications are due Wednesday, June 15. The 2022鈥23 Fenwick Fellow(s) will be announced at the start of the fall 2022 semester. Visit the听听for eligibility information and guidelines. Email听Wally Grotophorst听with questions.

Mason Square Commuting Opportunity: Sustain and Save

Mason Square (formerly the Arlington Campus) has partnered with Commute66 to help faculty and staff who currently pay tolls on I-66 take advantage of Sustain & Save.

This program provides $100 per month to employees who switch their commute from driving and parking at Mason Square to using transit, carpooling, biking, or another sustainable option.
