Mason's Alumni Association has established the Amy Takayama-Perez Memorial Student Book Award to honor Mason alumna and former colleague Amy Takayama-Perez, BA Sociology ’96, MEd ’02.

Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens, will be the featured speaker at Mason’s 2024 Spring Commencement. The ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

Started as a way to give more women a seat at the publishing table, "So to Speak", Mason's feminist journal for art and writing, gives creatives with diverse perspectives and backgrounds a place to shine.

Gary T. Taylor, MSW ‘15, is destigmatizing mental health support and normalizing therapy in the Black community one barbershop at a time. “Barbershops are this safe space for Black men,” explains Taylor who has been working with local barbershops in the Rappahannock region since 2022 to foster healthy discussions about mental health by educating barbers on “mental health first aid” for their patrons.

Co-founded in 2018 by Trevor Montano, BS Accounting ’00, and Derek Horstmeyer, a professor of finance at the Costello College of Business at George Mason �鶹����, the Montano Student Investment Fund (SMIF) is an all-equity investment fund administered by finance students at the Costello College of Business.

Mason hosted CGI leadership, employees, and Mason alumni for CGI Night at the men’s basketball game against Duquesne at EagleBank Arena on March 2. More than 250 Mason alumni work at CGI.

Princess Aliyah Pandolfi, BS in Management '04, is the co-founder and executive director of Kashmir World Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of endangered species through novel technologies, such as autonomous drones and AI.

A Mason graduate paid for his Schar School master’s degree by working at Mason—as a policeman. Along the way, Detective Ryan Grant learned research skills while earning the trust of the Patriot community.

During her time at Mason, Mason alumna Shrishti Singh has used all the tools the university provides to bring her discovery to the marketplace.

Stacey Schwartz works as a digital strategist for the Center for the Arts and the Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason �鶹����. A Mason alum, Schwartz brought her capstone research project to life when she opened a Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG) in her community.
