The Edges of What I Feel, an exhibition by the Healing Artist Collective curated by recently retired Mason professor Peter Winant, features the artwork of an eclectic group of Mason School of Art students and alumni. The diverse group of artists participated in the exhibition with the common goal of healing.

Murals at Mason commissioned School of Art student Nadya Steare to design two murals that reflect the research focuses of faculty and students at Mason's Potomac Science Center. The staircase mural 'Sediment to Sky' focuses on each layer of the Potomac River watershed, highlighting native flora, fauna, and microorganisms. 

Sisc Johnson, a George Mason �鶹���� School of Art student and staff member, will be the first in her family to graduate from college this May.

The first time Katherine Ashby saw her artwork installed at Gunston Hall, the historic home of U.S. Founding Father George Mason IV, it was surreal. “I had never done something that felt that important or that had been installed physically,” the senior painting major from George Mason �鶹���� said.

Mason student Nadya Steare recently completed a two-month residency at the Akureyri Art Museum in Iceland where she worked full time on a new series.

This summer Mason seniors Mirella Guzman-Escobar and Jacques Lykes are interning in the office of the House Creative Services, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mason artist in residence Abdulrahman “Abi” Naanseh studied interior design at Damascus �鶹���� in Syria, but his true passion is art, specifically Arabic calligraphy.

Mason Exhibitions is honored to present Abdulrahman Naanseh: Pressure, Movement, Effect, a solo exhibition of the artist’s recent Arabic calligraphy on paper and canvas, on view June 17 through August 6, 2022. The opening reception for Pressure, Movement, Effect will kick off with the Arlington Collective Art Walk the evening of June 17, featuring self-guided art experiences open to the public that connects seven local galleries.
