From the MAP Clinics to virtual reality training and the Student Nursing Association, Bachelor of Nursing student James Kim graduates prepared to be a great nurse. 

George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú has 10 graduate programs in the top 30 among public institutions, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report, reflecting the university’s reputation for innovation and ability to make significant impacts on the national stage.

The Sentara Scholars Scholarship will provide financial assistance to approximately 60 students from Virginia. 

Responding to the commonwealth’s public health and workforce needs, Mason’s new interdisciplinary college will benefit the region and beyond.

George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú’s $214 million in research funding in fiscal year 2021 represented an increase of more than $100 million over five years, and puts the university on track to meet its goal of $225 million by 2025.

Mason will receive more than a $1 million for a center that will help in the fight against the growing opioid epidemic, and another $820,000 to establish a clinic that will help combat Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Federal funding for both projects came as part of the federal omnibus appropriations bill that President Biden recently signed into law to fund the government through Fiscal Year 2023.

For her Master of Health Administration capstone, George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú graduate student Akshaya Chinnathevar Ramesh is interning at The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Capitol Hill and working with a team of analysts working on required reports to Congress on the effects of the No Surprise Act.

Mason and MedStar come together to establish the Future Nurse Program, preparing nurses for clinical practice, and addressing critical nursing workforce shortages in the region.
