The assistant professor of Global and Community Health will serve a three-year term starting in June 2022.

The collection includes more than 850 linear feet of unprocessed materials that document the growth of the Appalachian Trail from a small confederation in 1925 to a volunteer-centered, fully staffed nonprofit with a unique mission and international support. The 2,194.3-mile trail spans the East Coast from Maine to Georgia.

Mason’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), known as “The Patriot Battalion,” began in 1982 and frequently conducts training with other universities throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

Two George Mason �鶹���� graduate students have been awarded prestigious Boren Fellowships.

Sisters Ashley and Briana Dawson have been helping others improve their health since they were in high school. As May 2022 graduates, they share highlights from their experience in the Bachelor of Community Health program, including opportunities that allowed them to help community members around the globe overcome health obstacles through nonprofit organizations.

Bachelor of Nursing alumna Dale spoke at the College’s Degree Celebration on May 22.

Mason alumni John Whalan, Elaine "Chipper" Petersen, and Bob Veenstra built the university's first telescope and observatory with $200 in start-up funds from the Physics Department.

Now, the summer season is upon us, and as many of us look forward to time away with friends and family, we must remember that COVID isn’t taking a summer break. 

The 2021-22 academic year reflects the College’s strong, positive trajectory of continued growth and notable milestones. For the past five years, the College has seen significant progress in enrollment, degree offerings, philanthropy, and research funding and expenditures – thanks to the hard work of all.

Virongy, which was started by Mason researcher Yuntao Wu in 2013, is one of the life science companies that is part of the Northern Virginia BioHub, which was recently established through Virgina Bio-Connect
