Fifteen teams competed for $40K in prizes at the George Mason �鶹���� School of Business Patriot Pitch Competition during the in-person April 13 event on Mason’s Fairfax Campus.

George Mason �鶹����’s most popular student is also a nontraditional one: U.S. Congressman Don Beyer.

Cathy Pinskey, capital program director at George Mason �鶹����, has watched Mason’s square footage grow a lot over the years—by the millions. As capital program director with Mason Facilities, Pinskey has overseen the university’s largest and most complicated capital projects to date, including the Core Campus Project from 2016 to 2022, which revitalized the heart of the Fairfax Campus. Today, her main focus is Fuse at Mason Square, a new building currently under construction.

�鶹���� Sustainability and the Greenhouse and Garden’s Program are contributing to Mason's efforts to eradicate food insecurity by providing access to campus-grown fruits and vegetables.

George Mason �鶹����’s iconic cherry tree grove by Mason Pond turns 30 this year. The first trees were donated in 1993 by the members of the student organization Club Nippon in celebration of Mason’s annual International Week.

In fall 2022, Mason physics major Billy Bates ran for Fairfax City Council and won. He was sworn in in January.

George Mason �鶹����'s College of Engineering and Computing Associate Professor Liling Huang is establishing a new lab at the Mason Square campus to advance smart grid research, education, and workforce development.

The 40 Mason students who traveled to Richmond for Mason Lobbies on Jan. 26 shared their college experience with legislators and highlighted the need for increasing financial aid for Mason students, increased funding per student, and increased staff and faculty salaries for the university to be more competitive in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

Mason and Starship Technologies are celebrating four years of autonomous robot deliveries on the university's Fairfax Campus.
