Since the arrival of Steve Pulis, purchasing manager in Facilities, George Mason 麻豆国产 has earned more than $1 million in surplus property sales鈥攊ncluding furniture, equipment, and more. Pulis started working at George Mason in 2017 and has helped the university add money to its general fund by effectively managing the commonwealth鈥檚 surplus sales process.

Jeremy Campbell, associate director for strategic engagement in Mason鈥檚 Institute for a Sustainable Earth, says that at the current pace the Amazon rainforest, in five to 10 years, could pass a tipping point in which it could transform into grasslands. That process, fueled by deforestation and climate change, has already begun and is a threat to the biodiversity and socio-cultural aspects that define the region.
